SUMMARY:Disability Awareness Training: Building Inclusion Together at MTU
DESCRIPTION:As part of College Awareness Week 2025\, students with intellectual disabilities from the Skills for Life Programme at MTU will deliver Disability Awareness Training to first-year Health and Leisure students. \nThis collaborative and interactive session aims to create greater awareness\, understanding\, and inclusion within the MTU community. By sharing their experiences and insights\, Skills for Life students help promote a deeper appreciation of diversity and highlight the many similarities that all students share within college life. \nThrough this exchange\, it is hoped that both groups of students will develop stronger connections and contribute to building social capital and a more inclusive campus culture across MTU.

You will also have the chance to see the wonderful facilities we offer students who choose to study in Kerry.  Mature applicants can attend our Mature Student Seminar where our Access Officer will discuss returning to Education\, the Mature Student Application Process and Support Services. \nYou can also meet with our admissions and student services staff who will be able to advise on CAO applications and supports that we offer to students with disabilities or learning difference. \nOpen day is for everyone – parents\, leaving cert students\, mature students or anyone considering higher education in the future – but pre-booking this year is essential! \nOnce you have decided whether you will attend in the morning or afternoon\, don’t forget to add-on any talks you would like to attend. \nPlease note\, due to public health restrictions\, places are limited and attendees will need to produce their EU Covid Digital Certificate in order to gain access to the event.
