DESCRIPTION:Got speaker in from TUS Athlone to talk to Leaving Certs & LCAs about their Access Apprenticeship Course.  Where students who are accepted onto the course complete a 12 week pre-apprenticeship course.  They get to sample the various apprenticeships\, meet prospective employers\, prepare for interviews/aptitude tests…etc.

DESCRIPTION:The whole school set aside time  during class 5 on Thursday  25th to participate in ‘Ask Someone Who Has Been There!’\nStudents had the opportunity to ask their teacher about their experience of college and careers in their subject area.  student s were provided with a list of suggested questions and staff were given suggest topics that they may like to discuss.\nThe feedback was very positive\, both teachers and students enjoyed the activity and thought it was a very beneficial in raising student awareness of college life and career opportunities.
