SUMMARY:Whidden ZOOM Workshop; It's Kushti to Rokker (Chatting Workshop; It's Good to Talk) inspirational event for Traveller and Roma Students
DESCRIPTION:WWKR means Chatting Workshop; It’s Good to Talk in Cant and Roma dialects.\nOur workshop brings together Traveller and Roma students to chat and describe their experiences of going to college. The conversations provide inspiration and advice for other Traveller and Roma students hoping to go to college in the future. Our student panel will consist of Traveller and Roma students attending MTU\, DCU\, DkIT\, MU and TUS and more. Part of our discussion will also focus on the Traveller Graduate Network \nThe Whidden Workshop; It’s Kushti to Rokker is really worth attending if you are a Traveller or Roma student currently attending secondary school\, studying at a PLC or taking an adult learning course. We would also encourage parents or guardians of students to attend too. The way we see it – the more voices we have involved the greater the discussion. \nWe look forward to seeing you at our event

SUMMARY:Information Webinar 'The transition to third level for young people affected by childhood cancer'
DESCRIPTION:Moving from second to third level can be daunting for any student and parent\, and it is even more so for childhood cancer survivors or young people who are undergoing treatment. We know the struggles our children and young people have been through since their diagnosis and treatment and the toll that active treatment takes. No young person affected by childhood cancer is left unmarked by their journey and the treatments needed to save their lives. Many of our children are dealing with long term and late effects\, which may be physical\, emotional or cognitive. \nThis webinar aims to provide information and advice on moving through the senior cycle and applying for college through the CAO. We will look at DARE (Disability Access Route to Education) and find out how it applies to young people affected by childhood cancer\, how to apply and the key dates in the process. We will also find out more about supports available in college and how to access them.
