College Awareness Week – Building Links With Others

This week at St. Mel’s College we are celebrating College Awareness Week, with the theme of building links with others.
On Monday our staff networked with students, wearing lanyards that represented the college which they went to. This acted as a prompt whereby our student body could ask teachers about college life. On Tuesday we welcomed TYs from the local girls school to compete in a CAW table quiz. It was fantastic, much fun was had. On Wednesday 1st years will network with our 3rd years and complete a CAW Scavenger Hunt. We are also inviting Abbott to speak to our 5th years about opportunities in STEM. On Thursday our local steel Company, Kiernan Structural Steel will visit 6th years to do a workshop on apprenticeships. Friday we will plant our CAW tree which will represent how our student body can avail of opportunities to grow in and with their education.
