Mountmellick Community School host ‘College Awareness Week 2021’

There will be a series of activities happening across first to sixth year.
Junior students will participate in activities such as the CAW word search, my dream job and examining careers portal’ “career sectors” diagram.
Senior students will attend college talks which are currently being organised. They will brain storm all the college/university names in Ireland.
All students will participate in a ‘whole school career quiz’ last class on Friday of the week.
Senior students will complete the CAO demo application.
3rd year students will participate in an activity where they are checking out the college prospectus books.
An interview with three current college students will be pre-recorded on Zoom and subsequently shared amongst all SPHE classes, TY and senior career guidance classes.
A display board where students can write their ‘dream job’ in the corridor will be erected.
6th year students will visit 3rd year students classes to inform them about careful consideration of choosing Leaving Cert subjects and their impact on careers.
A whole school public speaking event will occur with the motion “The benefits of going to college”
Our past pupil “Hall of Fame” will be updated.
Parents/guardians will receive a ‘college aware’ pack of material and information for supporting their son/daughter.
The Primary activity sheet will be circulated to all Primary schools in the catchment area.
All students will receive a cert of participation.
