A Great CAW Conclusion
Today marks the last school day of College Awareness Week 2018. This year we saw all 32 counties log events which have resulted in an all new high number. Our latest record has shown 1’700 events across the country which is a testament to the power of CAW, the educators and students willing to get involved and get college aware.
The outstanding level of commitment, involvement and creativity throughout the week has set all new standard of CAW. We’re seeing the from strength to strength as organisers harness all platforms and use the technology and their communities to spread the CAW message wider than it ever travelled.
CAW finished the week with as 300 primary schools graduation ceremony with the Solas Project in Trinity College Dublin. Primary school students donned their self-decorated graduation cap in celebration of the ending of their week. Students also gave presentations on what it takes to go to college. Safe to say after all their informative presentations, they were college aware! We wish them the best of luck with their future studies. Another event was the student-run careers fair in Drimnagh Castle Secondary School, Dublin. Their teacher Ms. Deirdre Fitzpatrick organised the preliminary details but handed the event over to the student council who organised it with ease.
These events were only two happening throughout an entire country which had 1’700 events nationwide. Our CAW team have clocked hundreds of miles traveling the length and breath of the country visiting events. Our photographer has shot thousands of pictures and our social media accounts have not had a dull a moment since we begun. It is these small examples which shows how busy College Awareness Week 2018 has been but it is your efforts and creativity which has made the week what it is. Mile Buíochas, from all on the CAW team!
