Spotlight: National Traveller MABS create video series on financing education
To coincide with College Awareness Week, National Traveller MABS, the organisation which works to reduce poverty, discrimination, and the financial exclusion of Travellers in Ireland, have created a series of videos aimed at raising awareness of the financial supports and grants available to fund your college education. It’s just one of over 1000 events happening around the country this week, planned by schools, FETs, libraries, and community education initiatives of all types.
Every student has to pay the student contribution and while it’s not covered by free fees there are funding options . #CAW2021 @CollegeAware @MEND_CC @MABSinfo @PaveePoint @ExchangeHouseIr @itmtrav @Involve32620397 pic.twitter.com/f1Kn5qJreS

The videos explain, saving for college, the free fees initiative and the range of financial supports available to pay the student contribution, as well as the back to education allowance. Still to come are videos on SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) and the 1916 bursary scheme, which can support you financially throughout your time in college, so make sure to keep an eye on @NTMABS on Twitter/Facebook and their website www.ntmabs.org.
